The Cyber Centre reports that Storm-0940 used an agentic AI framework called ARTEX against hundreds of organizations, in some cases moving from target selection to privileged cloud access in under three hours. It warns that critical infrastructure incidents can spread across sectors and asks operators to require phishing resistant MFA on remote access, limit standing access, patch internet facing systems and decide in advance who can isolate a network. For Canadian infrastructure operators the message is that exposed edge devices and remote access are now found at machine speed.
