What They Provide

Fortinet is the security platform most of the operators Fabric Networks advises already run. FortiGate firewalls terminate their VPN tunnels, segment their networks and inspect their traffic, and the wider Security Fabric (FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiSOAR and FortiNDR) tells them what is happening across the estate. Fabric Networks works with that installed base rather than around it. The FortiGate stays, the policy stays and the operations team stays. Fabric adds the layer Fortinet does not provide on its own: quantum-safe key delivery, and a cryptographic inventory the operator can put in front of a regulator.

Why Fortinet customers come to Fabric

Every IPsec tunnel a FortiGate builds today negotiates its keys with public key exchange (RSA, Diffie Hellman or elliptic curve). That is the mathematics a cryptographically relevant quantum computer breaks, and it is what makes harvest now, decrypt later a present risk rather than a future one. Fortinet is adding post-quantum algorithms to FortiOS, and FortiNDR Cloud can now report which TLS sessions have already moved to hybrid key exchange. That is useful, and it also shows an operator how much of the estate has not moved: older gear, partner links, tunnels whose far end is not FortiOS, and anything a sensor never sees.

How Fabric secures a Fortinet estate

Fabric brings NetworkSecure into the FortiGate. NetworkSecure is a Fortinet Fabric-Ready integration that delivers quantum-safe symmetric keys directly into existing FortiGate IPsec tunnels. No hardware is replaced and the architecture does not change. Fabric Networks holds a Private Instance license for the SKA-Platform, so key generation and delivery run on infrastructure Fabric operates for its clients.

The engagement follows Fabric's four phases. Detect: Encryption Intelligence inventories every encrypted flow across the Fortinet estate and beyond it, including IPsec, SSH, application and storage cryptography, and produces the cryptographic bill of materials that a TLS only view cannot. Protect: NetworkSecure keys are applied to the highest exposure tunnels first, with FortiManager policy left intact. Comply: an evidence pack that maps the estate to Canadian Centre for Cyber Security and NIST post-quantum guidance. Scale: the same pattern extended to new sites, partner links and FortiGate models as the estate grows.

For Fortinet's current and future customers

If you already run Fortinet, the Discovery Program shows you which tunnels are exposed and what it takes to close them without a forklift. If you are specifying Fortinet for a new network, Fabric designs the quantum-safe key layer in from day one, so the estate is compliant on the day it is commissioned rather than retrofitted later.

Integration Details

FortiGate NGFW: NetworkSecure symmetric key delivery into existing IPsec VPN tunnels, entry level through high end series. FortiManager: policy orchestration unchanged. FortiAnalyzer and FortiSIEM: Encryption Intelligence findings and key events exported as logs. FortiNDR Cloud: the PQC dashboard used alongside Encryption Intelligence to reconcile TLS session posture with the full cryptographic inventory. FortiOS post-quantum key exchange: used where the platform supports it and layered with symmetric keys where it does not.
