QUANTUM THREAT INTELLIGENCE
The Treasury Board Secretariat's Security Policy Implementation Notice, Direction on Government of Canada Cyber Security Readiness in the Frontier Artificial Intelligence Era, took effect on October 1, 2026 and applies to organizations under the Policy on Government Security. Departments must submit a prioritized list of critical services to TBS by November 30, 2026, then maintain application inventories, architecture diagrams that show attack paths, a complete list of Internet connections and public addresses, software bills of materials and endpoint visibility; harden edge devices, remote access and administrative interfaces to Cyber Centre guidance; control vendor remote access; segment critical services per ITSP.80.022 and ITSG-38; and protect logs with approved cryptographic safeguards under ITSP.40.111. The notice is written for AI enabled attacks and does not set post-quantum requirements itself, but section 7.3 flows its requirements into procurement documents and contracts, so suppliers to federal departments will be asked to show the same inventory and hardening discipline.
Every advance in quantum computing shortens the window for migrating long lived infrastructure off quantum-vulnerable encryption, and data captured today can be decrypted later. Fabric Networks helps energy, government, telecom and community networks move to quantum-safe encryption on their own timeline, not an adversary's.
