QUANTUM THREAT INTELLIGENCE

FIPS 140-2 Certificates Move to NIST's Historical List on September 22, 2026

On September 22, 2026 NIST's Cryptographic Module Validation Program moved remaining FIPS 140-2 certificates to its historical list. Procurement and compliance programs that require an active FIPS validation now need FIPS 140-3 modules, which affects firewalls, HSMs and VPN appliances still running 140-2 validated firmware.

Why this matters for your infrastructure

Every advance in quantum computing shortens the window for migrating long lived infrastructure off quantum-vulnerable encryption, and data captured today can be decrypted later. Fabric Networks helps energy, government, telecom and community networks move to quantum-safe encryption on their own timeline, not an adversary's.
